Gill Wilson
Gill Wilson works with plant fiber to produce sculptural artwork. She originally studied paper making in Japan. Over the past couple of years, Gill has created work for clients in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Greece, the Middle East and Japan. She is passionate about the creative potential of plant fiber pulps and she uses this exclusively in her work, which is ecologically ethical and sustainable. Wilson uses a combination of traditional Japanese techniques as well as processes which she developed through her practice. The fiber pulp can be smooth or richly textured and dyed to any color or tone, providing the most subtle graduations of tonal variation. Wilson has a long experience of studio-based practice, of exhibiting and of working for contract clients.
