I love to play with colors and enjoy painting digital abstracts, tropical landscapes, and people’s faces, especially women’s faces. On my website, you will find bright colorful paintings. Eleven were shown at the East West Fine Art gallery at the Bigham Galleria.

My newest online gallery is at www.SandySmythDesigns3.com. The style is different from my former paintings due to new digital technology, but my compositions still reflect my love of color and movement. My paintings can be printed on canvas or aluminum for indoor/outdoor use.

As an undergraduate, I majored in Art and was an Art teacher for several years. My graduate degrees, however, are in Religious Studies. For me, creativity is a spiritual practice. I feel Spirit as movement in everything I paint.

When my husband retired at age 70, we moved to a condo in Naples, Florida. After giving away all my art supplies to a devastated school in flooded Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I began to paint abstracts, portraits, and landscapes with digital tools on my computer. I used to paint with hand-held brushes and acrylics, or with oil crayons and torn paper, but now prefer this exciting digital medium.
