    Dancing Clocks and Soaring Violins

East West Fine Art gallery, open in Naples since 2000, has a talent for discovering artists who spark the imagination. Contemporary sculpture artist Laura Lee Junge is a rising star in the American art world, captivating audiences with her joyful creations and imaginative approach to sculpture.

Over the years, East West Fine Art has celebrated artists who bring unique perspectives, creativity, and emotion into their work. As a result, the gallery’s collection continues to introduce collectors to original artwork that inspires curiosity and connection.

Laura Lee Junge’s artwork explores the relationship between time, movement, sound, and visual expression. Through her creative process, she transforms familiar ideas into engaging sculptural experiences.

In this conversation with gallery owner Leeza Arkhangelskaya (LA), Laura Lee Junge (LJ) opens a window into a world where time, movement, and sound converge. Her work moves fluidly between painting and sculpture, with spinning clocks and soaring violins that invite viewers to pause, feel, and live with art every day.

Furthermore, driven by curiosity and passion, her practice transforms beauty and emotion into tangible form. Through her sculptures, Laura weaves music and motion into threads that connect past, present, and imagination.

    Laura Lee Junge’s Creative Mission

From the beginning of her artistic journey, Laura has focused on creating pieces that bring beauty, curiosity, and joy into everyday life. In particular, her sculptures are designed not only to be viewed but also to be experienced and enjoyed over time.

    LA: What is your mission?

LJ: With my work I lean more towards the entertaining side and creating things of beauty and interest. Making something that a person would want to live with day in, and day out is immensely rewarding.

Discovering a Unique Style Through Contemporary Sculpture

As her artistic vision developed, Laura Lee Junge continued to explore new techniques and creative possibilities. Eventually, her experimentation led her toward three-dimensional wall sculptures and a distinctive approach to contemporary sculpture.

LA: How did you invent your style of painting?

LJ: The biggest drive for me in creating art is the process and learning new ways to make art. I am a forever student. Recently my focus and goal have been creating 3-Dimensional Wall Sculptures.

The Meaning of Time in Laura Lee Junge’s Artwork

One of the most recognizable themes in Laura’s work is her fascination with clocks and movement. Because of this interest, her sculptures encourage viewers to reflect on the role that time plays in everyday life.

At the same time, her artwork explores a universal experience that connects people across generations and cultures.

LA: What message are you conveying with your use of clocks and references to time?

LJ: I have always had a huge fascination with things spinning and rotating and nothing does that better than a clock. I love the concept of time, and it’s placed importance in our society. Time is one of those things that we have no control over and if we let it, it will control us.

    Music, Movement, and Original Sculpture

In addition to exploring time, Laura brings the emotion and energy of music into her artwork. Through this combination, her musical sculptures capture the feeling of sound and movement while creating a visual connection between different art forms.

LA: How and why have you made these musical creations?

LJ: Music has been a constant theme in my artwork and in the process of creation. With the 3d pieces that play music I am aiming to capture the movement and the feeling of music. The violins and guitars are given wings to signify the way that music moves through and around us. There is a history and a bond through music that unites us all. Music is just magic….
