Georgy Kurasov’s painting method is based upon the principle of a complex geometrical construction with fragments of colored and texturized surfaces. He creates a variety of objects and forms within the composition while the figures within his paintings are still allowed to retain their individuality and strong character. His favorite muse, his wife Zina is depicted in almost all his paintings. This recognizable figure in his works can be seen portraying a mythological, historical, religious, or sometimes contemporary female of elegance and inner power. The underlying theme of all his paintings is that of a romantic nature positioned in a recognizable setting with geometric tendencies.
